job summary
the financial accountant will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing general ledger accounts, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, and supporting tax compliance and audit preparation. This role is critical in maintaining the financial integrity of the company while meeting tight reporting deadlines. The ideal candidate will have experience in financial accounting within the automotive manufacturing industry and be proficient in epicor erp and financial reporting tools.
key responsibilities
1. prepare and ensure the accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with company policies and regulations.
2. provide timely financial reports to hq, ensuring they meet corporate deadlines.
3. ensure compliance with local tax regulations, financial standards, and company policies.
4. maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure financial accuracy.
5. ensure proper recording of journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
6. assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes.
7. oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
8. manage vendor and customer accounts, reconciling outstanding balances.
9. address discrepancies and resolve financial issues related to ap/ar.
10. support tax filing processes, ensuring timely and accurate submission of tax reports.
11. prepare financial records and documentation for internal and external audits.
12. assist in implementing audit recommendations to improve financial controls.
13. assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
14. monitor cash flow, ensuring financial stability and efficiency.
15. identify opportunities for cost control and financial optimization.
16. identify opportunities to improve financial processes and enhance reporting efficiency.
17. collaborate with the cost accountant and other teams to streamline financial workflows.
18. ensure financial data integrity and compliance with epicor erp systems.
19. provide financial insights for decision-making and business strategy.
20. support the finance team with ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects.
21. participate in cross-functional initiatives to improve financial operations.
qualifications & requirements
education & certifications:
1. bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
2. cpa (certified public accountant) or equivalent certification is a plus.
experience:
1. 2-5 years of experience in financial accounting, specifically in automotive manufacturing.
2. strong knowledge of financial reporting, compliance, and general accounting principles.
technical skills:
1. proficiency in epicor erp for financial tracking and reporting.
2. advanced skills in microsoft excel (pivot tables, vlookup, macros) and financial reporting tools.
3. knowledge of local and international accounting regulations and tax compliance.
4. experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
soft skills:
1. proactive and self-driven, capable of working independently.
2. excellent communicator, able to present financial data clearly to management and hq.
3. strong time management skills to meet tight reporting deadlines.
4. high attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
