*job summary*
*responsibilities*:
- participates on planning calls with noc.
- monitors train switching on-line in the yard at the terminal to accomplish safe and efficient movement of trains.
- creates and sends forms, reports and activity logs in a clear way, on time and with data integrity.
- coordinates and supports internal operation through radio with road and local trains.
- coordinates and informs about daily operational impacts to the terminal manager.
- sets and offers the train on mcs and oasis.
- manages mcs system.
- acts as the communication link between noc and terminal operations.
- guarantees the fulfilment of companies' legal procedures and policies to adopt disciplinary measurements when needed.
- understands the relevant business metrics and applies effective tactics to sustain a culture of operational effectiveness that produces teams of high performing, engaged and empowered operational leaders.
- identifies when a rule/regulation/policy has been violated and has one-on-one accountability conversations with an individual who has not met expectations, using kcs candor, aligning the stars & kcs abc's, and have the individual produce better results.

*required*:
- technical degree or equivalent.
*other requirements*:
- must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
- good experience with microsoft offce office suite.
- 1-year experience on cars switching and intermodal operation.
*availability*:
- to rotate shifts, employees must have the ability and willingness to support the rail operation on critical requirements outside office hours, weekends and holidays.
- this position could require travelling up to 20% of the time.
