Position summary the mechanical engineer supports newproduct development for the company's thermal global products.
themechanical engineer is responsible for the physical design and/orthermal system design of new products.
this engineer must be apractical hands-on type of engineer who can start with an abstractconcept and see it through to product launch.
responsibilities -creates/modifies mechanical parts/assemblies/drawings in cadsystems, such as creo and/or solid edge.
- create and maintain billof materials and unit configurator logic to select the correctbom's based on options selected by the customer.
- works withmarketing, manufacturing, service and quality to understand theirrequirements to design a product that best meets all of theirneeds.
- assist with prototype builds by providing technicalsupport and providing guidance when issues arise.
- gather feedbackfrom prototype builds and field trials and implement appropriateimprovements to the product.
- understands the products, suggestideas and improvements.
- assists with troubleshooting of escalatedor re-occurring field issues.
- coordinate performance testing inthe lab.
- analyze test data, diagnose issues and determine changesto improve performance.
- thermal system modeling to determineperformance and correct part selection.
- determine controlsroutines needed to make system operate optimally and to meetcustomer requirements.
qualifications - bachelor's degree inmechanical engineering or equivalent.
- basic working knowledge ofmechanical and electrical concepts, products and safety.
- basicmechanical cad tools experience- solid edge, creo, solid works.
-experience with sheetmetal, piping and assemblies is a plus.
-data-entry systems familiarity - oracle, agile, etc.
- strongtroubleshooting skills with the ability to solve (and prevent) awide range of problems quickly and methodically.
