The legal support manager provides full leadership and supervisory responsibility. Provides operational/service leadership and direction to team(s). Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge through provision of value-added perspectives or advisory services. May contribute to the development of new techniques, models and plans within area of expertise. Excellent communication and diplomacy skills are required. Generally has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness of end results and shared responsibility for planning and budgets. Work affects an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family. Full supervisory responsibility, ensuring motivation and development of team through professional leadership to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary and terminations as well as direction of daily tasks and responsibilities.

1. responsible for legal support activities related to legal operations, technology, budget/expenses, risk/controls, litigation/discovery/settlements or administration
2. performs varied work requests from multiple sources that may be complex in character and have tight deadlines
3. facilitates the management of a team by providing recommendations on hiring, disciplinary actions, terminations and compensation of the team
4. administrates work streams as a result of global, regional and function plans
5. engages with colleagues horizontally and vertically and across multiple functions both internally within citi and externally with outside counsel and vendors
6. provides subject matter expertise when necessary
7. works with confidential information with the appropriate care and discretion
8. appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
qualifications:
9. 5-8 years of experience
10. prior experience in legal operations, legal environment or consulting environment
11. proven record of managing and/or mentoring operational resources by influence
12. exhibits confidence and agility in challenging times
13. creates an environment where people hold themselves to the highest ethical standards
14. excellent interpersonal and project management skills
15. must possess the ability to work with confidential information with the appropriate care and discretion
16. ability to promote collaboration
17. possess good technical skills as well as an understanding of system flows

education:
19. bachelors/university degree or equivalent experience
