trade compliance specialist is responsible and accountable for implementation of trade compliance regulations and policies globally. Trade compliance specialist has an authority to approve or hold export/import transactions, and block transactions, that are not in compliance with global or local trade compliance laws, regulations or policies
- provide assistance and back up to haemonetics global trade compliance department on all trade compliance related programs, projects and operations
- write, update and implement global trade compliance sops and work instructions in a framework of haemonetics global trade compliance programs and local trade compliance laws and regulations. Participate in developing strong global export/import and ctpat compliance programs, import broker procedures, and other trade compliance processes when required
- conduct periodic business unit internal trade compliance risk assessments, recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions when necessary
- classify goods, software, data, and technology for export and import transactions. Maintain haemonetics foreign trade data classification approved databases, including hs codes, country of origin, eccns, license determination, and other applicable foreign trade data. Create and maintain a lean process for classifying products and parts. Trade compliance specialist is accountable for complete and correct classification and record keeping to support correct foreign trade data in haemonetics databases and on export/import documentation
- screen transactions and parties against proscribed party lists, end user, end use, be able to identify transactions with sanctioned and embargoed parties and destinations, request appropriate licenses, and escalate non-compliant transactions to a global trade compliance manager. Maintain and implement "deemed export" process and procedures
- determine government agency regulatory requirements to import/export goods, software, data and technology. Facilitate obtaining import and export licenses and permits. Ensure products have proper regional government agencies data and autorization for export/import clearance. Track shipments and assure proper customs clearance.
- generate reports that monitor and measure applicable trade compliance kpis. Maintain key metrics published, prepare charts and analysis
- evaluate and implement trade compliance automated solutions.
- contribute to supply chain security programs by providing ctpat expertise
- work cross-functionally with internal departments, including logistics and transportation, procurement, legal, quality, regulatory, service, finance, sales and marketing. Support relationship with transportation/freight forwarding service provides, including domestic and international suppliers
- assist in the design, delivery of trade compliance internal training program, including maintenance of training records
- assist with customs and other government agency inquiries, risk assessments, audits. Maintain knowledge of all local trade compliance government regulations and updates. Report all violations to a global trade compliance manager
- responsible for export/import item management, transaction screening - end user and end users review, export authorization, party management and proscribed party screening, recordkeeping, training, audits, handling trade compliance violations and corrective actions
- contribute to global trade management it projects implementation
- support export, import and ctpat program implementation, risk assessments, implementation, corrective actions
- conduct and document free trade agreement and country of origin analysis
- update and release export/import and ctpat sops and wis
- implement export/import clearance process and procedures globally
- conduct global distributor export control risk assessments
- oversee compliance with requirements of global customs authorities and other regulatory agencies regulating imports and exports, including but not limited to fda, bis, ofac
- support certificate of origin analysis and records, sign certificates of origin, and other applicable trade compliance letters and documents
- develop and provide trade compliance training programs
- create and implement recordkeeping process for haemonetics export/import item data, transactions and party screening
- participate and contribute to internal and external trade compliance and supply chain security, including ctpat audits, address violations and corrective actions
