about the electromechanical technician role:
the electromechanical technician is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on the hotel’s electromechanical systems, including electrical, mechanical, and electronic equipment. This position is crucial for ensuring the continuous operation of the facilities and ensuring guest comfort by effectively troubleshooting equipment and system failures.
what will you do in this role?
* maintenance of electrical systems: perform maintenance and repairs on electrical systems, including lighting, switches, outlets, wiring, and electrical panels.
* maintenance of mechanical equipment: attend to the maintenance of mechanical equipment such as elevators, air conditioning systems, heating and ventilation (hvac) systems, pumps, motors, and generators.
* repairs of electronic equipment: repair and maintain electronic equipment used in the hotel facilities, such as telecommunications systems, access controls, security systems, and other electronic devices.
* diagnosis of failures: diagnose and repair failures in equipment, with a quick and accurate approach to avoid service interruptions and minimize the impact on guests.
* preventive maintenance: execute preventive maintenance plans for all electromechanical equipment to reduce the risk of failures and extend equipment lifespan.
* management of tools and materials: oversee the inventory of tools and spare parts necessary for repairs and maintenance, ensuring that the appropriate materials are available for the job.
* compliance with regulations: ensure that all work performed complies with local safety, health, and environmental regulations, as well as the hotel's internal procedures.
* reports and work records: document all maintenance tasks performed, including repairs, replacements, and preventive work, and submit periodic reports to the maintenance supervisor.
* collaboration with other departments: work closely with other departments such as reception, housekeeping, and security to coordinate repairs without affecting the guest experience.
* technical emergencies: respond promptly to any technical emergencies, such as failures in electrical, mechanical, or electronic systems, outside of regular working hours.
what will be necessary for this role?
* academic training: degree in electromechanical technology or engineering or in related fields. Certifications in maintenance of electrical or mechanical equipment are a plus.
* experience: minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in electromechanical maintenance, preferably in the hotel sector or similar facilities.
* technical knowledge: in-depth knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hvac systems, electronic equipment, pumps, generators, and automated systems control.
* skills: ability to perform technical diagnostics and repairs efficiently and safely. Capability to use tools and diagnostic equipment.
* physical conditions: ability to perform manual tasks, lift heavy loads, and work in different conditions (heights, confined spaces, etc.).
* attitudes: problem-solving oriented, proactive, responsible, and with a focus on occupational safety.
* language: proficiency in spanish. Knowledge of english or other languages is a plus.
*this job requires applicants to have valid work authorization in mexico and spanish is essential.*
