Job description
the senior quality engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the organization's commitment to delivering high-quality products and services, maintaining customer trust, and driving continuous improvement in quality-related processes. This role requires the incumbent to combine their experience in manufacturing and quality engineering with knowledge of wireco’s unique and critical product requirements. Additionally, a combination of strategic thinking, technical expertise, and effective leadership must be used to create a culture of quality excellence throughout the organization, aligned to wireco’s business system (wbs).

duties & responsibilities
* partner with quality and operations leaders throughout the business to review and resolve nonconformances
* mentor and train team members on root cause analysis and corrective action (rcca) implementation
* facilitate rccas that span multiple sites
* continuously monitor internal and external failure data across the business to identify trends both within and between facilities
* support in the collection and review of cost of poor quality (copq) data on a routine basis
qualifications
* bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
* relevant experience (5 - 7 years) in an industrial manufacturing environment
* proven track record of driving quality improvement initiatives and corrective actions
* excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration across departments and regions
* analytical mindset with the capability to leverage data for informed decision-making
* knowledge of regulatory requirements, compliance standards, and iso quality management systems
* bilingual proficiency (english/spanish)
preferred qualifications
* master’s degree in engineering or a related field
* extensive experience (10 years) in an industrial manufacturing environment
* professional certifications in quality (e.g., asq certified quality engineer, six sigma black belt) highly desirable
materials and equipment directly used
* standard office equipment such as computers, keyboard, mouse, and copiers.
* personal protective equipment (ppe) including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toed safety shoes
