Dnv’s measurements team delivers high quality resource measurements to help wind farm developers to assess the energy production of the potential wind farm. On the wind turbines the team also do measurements to assure the wind turbine functionality and performance when placed in operation. the semela dnv measurements team consists of approximately 40 staff located in spain, italy, brazil, chile, méxico and south africa. It is part of a global team of measurements experts with other competence centers in china, india, germany, australia and us with further expertise in other dnv offices.
dnv is seeking a measurements engineer. This role will be serving the energy systems team.
the purpose of this role is to seek an ambitious individual with experience managing projects for leading wind turbine manufacturers and a diverse range of wind project developers and owners. -
you should be prepared to travel (~50%) to wind farms worldwide, primarily in mexico and latin america, and relish the opportunity to experience the view from atop wind turbine nacelles. You will utilize your technical hardware, software, and engineering skills to conduct complex analyses and contribute to a company renowned for its technical expertise in the energy industry.

this role will be based out of our dnv office in queretaro, mexico. It presents a dynamic hybrid schedule, with employees typically spending three days per week working from either a dnv office or client location/site.

what you’ll do
1. project management of measurements in solar and wind sites (scope, schedule, costs)
2. project planning including contract review, technical analysis and documentation
3. measurement equipment specification, procurement, preparation
4. data monitoring and analysis to international standards and internal best practices
5. develop reports to customers on outcomes of measurement projects and communicate the results
6. mange installation and commissioning of wind measurement equipment (mast or remote sensing devices such as lidar, sodar) and solar measurements (solar monitoring stations) and associated measurement equipment on behalf of customers.
7. climbing wind turbines applying safety policies and training
8. installation and calibration of measurement systems
9. troubleshooting data acquisition systems and sensors
10. travel (~50%)
11. subcontractor management for meteorological mast installations
12. support business development through lead generation and proposal writing
13. support business development of the measurement services through collaboration with international offices and engaging in r&d and innovation framework
14. develop tools and processes to continuously improve quality and value of delivery

what is required
24. bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical or electronics engineering (or other relevant discipline)
25. strong written and verbal english and spanish communication skills
26. proficiency in ms outlook, word, excel, powerpoint
27. occasional air travel to wind farms, other offices, and conferences
28. valid driver license required and acceptable driving record meeting company requirements; ability to rent a vehicle
29. occasional work outdoors in harsh conditions including but not limited to climbing stairs and ladders to ascend wind turbines or met masts, traveling by car up to six hours and walking on uneven terrain

33. previous renewable energy, consulting, project management, electronics experience or credentials

36. familiarity with analysis packages used in the wind industry such as imc famos, python, wasp, matlab, windfarmer, windapp etc.
