Job description:
*responsibilities*:
- focus on managing operations equipment, mro, facilities, environmental and engineering services with a spend of $15 mm across 3 plants in mexico and some smaller sites in south america, reporting to the global category manager, plant procurement
- with mentorship of a category manager, directly manage a spend subcategory or tail spend including primary ownership of the sourcing strategy development and execution
- autonomously manage suppliers with the assigned subcategory or tail spend
- independently develop and execute pipeline savings projects for the assigned spend subcategory or tail spend
- lead stakeholder engagement for the assigned subcategory or tail spend
- develop and present analyses and reports in supplier/category spend, (e)rfx, supplier performance, savings/productivity, dpo, and other value-indicative areas of opportunity
- execute supply market searches, rfi, rfp, rfq, and other core processes
- conduct supply agreement negotiations including reviewing and analyzing quality, service, technology, and value (qstv) associated with current and proposed contracts
- ensure that pricing and terms data is accurate and current in company systems and effectively resolve all pricing-based invoice discrepancies
- develop should-cost models, market intelligence, and other value analyses
- support rapid and comprehensive addressment of supplier performance failures
- provide tactical procurement support to site operations teams as required
- participate in functional platform continuous improvement efforts including process and system implementation and enhancement
- collaborate with gurgaon (in) procurement operations center (gpoc) as required to ensure an effective overall operating platform
- support policy and process compliance via analysis, reporting, and assessment
- support merger and acquisitions by reviewing the acquisition(s)' supplier list, identifying related preferred supplier and reviewing suppliers to be onboarded
- identify suppliers to engage to add mybuy static and punchout catalogs
- review data and engage internal clients regarding the proper use of preferred suppliers and the buy channel matrix
- review new supplier onboarding requests to identify existing, alternative or supplier consolidation options
skills and requirements
- bachelor's degree or similar
- two or more years of strategic and tactical experience in procurement, supply chain, operations, or comparable discipline
- experience in managing a subcategory/tail spend and execution of the sourcing process
- experience in managing procurement stakeholders
- fluent spanish and english
- outstanding interpersonal and collaboration skills
- sap and ariba experience preferred
- excellent analytical skills including experience in developing and presenting complex value analyses using excel and other tools
