basic function
under the supervision of the general supervisor of slip & glaze, bajío plant, this position is responsible for providing engineering support to the production areas, identifying and improving areas of opportunity in production processes or products, as well as developing and maintaining project engineering programs consistent with sound engineering practices, kos principles 1 and company policies, so that the plant operates smoothly and meets its production and cost objectives.
specific responsibilities
1. provide engineering assistance for the daily production of raw materials, slip or glaze; quality control, troubleshooting, cost reduction and compliance with delivery schedules of slip, glaze or supplies to the corresponding departments.
2. supervise production processes and suggest changes in work methods or operating sequences to ensure proper operation, improve department efficiency and productivity.
3. support the maintenance department with the monitoring of corrective or preventive maintenance of equipment in the slip and glaze departments.
4. develop and maintain control over labor standards in the manufacture, storage, adjustment and use of raw materials, slips and glazes.
5. assist in providing training to associates as needed and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
6. monitor and track the different plant metrics.
7. assist in the implementation of the kohler operating system (kos).
8. promote continuous improvements in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost, 5s and continuous improvement in plant operations.
9. develop quality projects through lean manufacturing tools to achieve cost reduction and improve results in the areas.
10. support the work team to follow up on the established methods, once the projects are implemented.
11. comply with the health and safety functions and responsibilities established in the plant.
education and experience requirements
education: chemical engineer, materials engineer or related field.
experience: 2 years in personnel management and industrial processes with a focus on laboratories.
knowledge: microsoft office, intermediate english, laboratory equipment, methodology and lean manufacturing.
