title: payroll specialist
as a payroll specialist, you are responsible for supporting the ams finance team. Responsibilities will include successful execution of field payroll, compliance with legal and company standards, and maintaining payroll records. You will establish and build ams’s reputation and brand through the market while engaging and supporting clients and healthcare professionals (hcps) using the company core values of customer service, respect, ethical behavior, accountability, teamwork, and excellence. Achieve individual performance goals by operating the ams way and exceeding minimum activity standards.
duties and responsibilities:
1. payroll processing: accurately process payroll for employees on a regular basis, including regular, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions. Ensure all hours worked are recorded correctly and that payroll is processed on time.
2. compliance: ensure that payroll is compliant with federal, state, and local tax regulations, labor laws, and company policies. Stay up-to-date on any changes to tax laws or payroll-related legislation.
3. timekeeping management: verify and review timesheets, attendance records, and other related documentation for accuracy before processing payroll. Address and resolve discrepancies in timekeeping records.
4. employee inquiries: address payroll-related inquiries from employees in a timely and professional manner. Provide clarification on pay-related questions, deductions, or any discrepancies.
5. payroll reporting: prepare and generate payroll reports for management and accounting departments. Provide reports related to employee earnings, deductions, and taxes for auditing and financial analysis.
6. year-end reporting: assist with year-end payroll reports, including the preparation and distribution of w-2s and other required tax forms.
7. payroll records management: maintain and update payroll records, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and securely stored. Support the hr department with employee documentation as needed.
required skills and experience:
1. bachelor's degree in accounting, commerce or related
2. minimum 5 years of work experience in payroll processing
3. knowledge around payroll systems like paylocity, adp is a plus
4. work timing 8am to 4pm est
