about the opportunity:
we are seeking a highly skilled cloud security engineer to join our team and support e-commerce help areas. The ideal candidate will have experience in cloud security, disaster recovery planning, aws networking, and automation. This role requires expertise in infrastructure as code (iac), distributed systems, and security compliance. The selected candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the security, resilience, and scalability of our cloud environment.
responsibilities:
* develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive dr strategies to ensure business continuity.
* design and configure dr solutions using aws services, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.
* set up and manage aws networking components, including vpcs, subnets, routing tables, and security groups.
* manage aws accounts and iam roles, ensuring secure access and resource management.
* establish alerting and logging mechanisms to detect and respond to incidents promptly.
* implement and maintain messaging queues like kafka for efficient data processing.
* design and manage distributed systems and microservices architectures.
* ensure seamless integration and communication between services.
* work closely with cross-functional teams to align dr strategies with business goals.
* communicate effectively in english, both written and verbal, to document procedures, present plans, and provide updates to stakeholders.
required qualifications:
* extensive experience with aws networking, accounts, and iam roles.
* proficiency in vault, consul, cloudformation, terraform, kubernetes (eks), istio service mesh, python, golang, and bash.
* hands-on experience with temporal, prometheus, grafana, chef, ansible, github, and gitlab.
* knowledge of databases such as cassandra, rds, and mongodb.
* experience with messaging queues like kafka.
* expertise in distributed systems, microservices architecture, aws s3, and multi-region deployments.
* experience with ci/cd tools such as github actions and spinnaker.
nice to have:
* track record in managing disaster recovery projects in a cloud-native environment.
* strong understanding of best practices for cloud infrastructure security and compliance.
* excellent communication skills in english, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.
* strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and leadership.
