The legal entity control team is responsible for financial oversight of their legal entity, and is tasked with ensuring that a strong control environment exists as it relates to all businesses, products and operational areas that impact the legal entity financials and regulatory reporting of the firm.

this role provides an opportunity to interact with multiple lines of business and internal stakeholders while learning legal entity controllership end-to-end. The vice president will be a key member of the team, playing a leadership role in overseeing the team's deliverables, and liaising with the line of business finance leads, operations and the legal entity controller community to drive the legal entity agenda. Specific responsibilities will include:
- communicate and partner with senior leadership and various internal stakeholders across the firm on various matters impacting the legal entity
- month-end analytical review of the standalone and consolidated legal entity to ensure completeness and accuracy of the financial statements, and preparation of various reports including contributions to the monthly controller's book, as well as legal entity and line of business financial commentary and regulatory reporting requirements
- drive process improvement to enhance reporting and gain efficiencies
- legal entity accounting & control on a monthly basis, including oversight of the month-end close process, parent/child accounting, equity pick up, review of inter-entity breaks and unnatural general ledger balance monitoring
- investigate, analyze and resolve issues and respond to ad-hoc queries
- review and track booking model methodologies and partner with the line of business controllers to better understand the key business driver of the legal entity financial results
- assist in the on-going legal entity control standard compliance monitoring and drive accountability model with the line of business and lec controller teams globally
- intercompany activity control including variance commentary and help drive root cause resolution
- participate in and help drive the overall lbc agenda on controls management, firmwide legal entity reporting projects including infrastructure and process improvement efforts and other controller initiatives as needed
*qualifications*:
- 6-8+ years finance/accounting/lec/regulatory reporting/products - related experience
- bachelor's degree required
- cpa a plus but not required
- superior accounting and analytical acumen, with ability to understand, produce and explain income statement and balance sheet content and variances
- advanced excel and powerpoint skills required
- self-motivated, strong initiative and superior work ethic; ability to thrive in a changing work environment
- ability to multi-task and work well under pressure, with an ability to be flexible in a dynamic and challenging environment
- outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to prepare executive level presentations
- ability to partner effectively with others, as well as act as an advisor to business partners within the lines of business or legal entity chains
- superior attention to detail, ability to deep dive on processes/issues and improve controls/efficiencies
- strong influencing and facilitation skills
