purpose: provides support to the manufacturing supervisor by coordinating various activities to meet the production schedule, including continuous supply of components and materials, verification of equipment set-up and meeting training requirements for personnel, while ensuring quality specifications and procedures are followed. Under direct supervision, coordinates production associates to meet schedule in compliance with quality system, ehs (environmental, health and safety) and company policies to ensure that equipment and material resources will be utilized effectively and efficiently.
you will be responsible for: scheduling the production line based on supply requirements and demands.managing the effective and efficient utilization of equipment and material resources to optimize performance.assisting the manufacturing supervisor to ensure that production plans are met.maintaining the continuous flow of the line by verifying the constant feeding of components, supplies and tooling.checking the set-up of machines and equipment with the help of maintenance technicians.verifying compliance of machinery and equipment calibration with respect to their due dates.reporting any quality problems, increased error rates, and equipment malfunctions to the manufacturing supervisor or line engineer.ensuring cleanliness and order at workstations as required by procedures.distributing associates in a timely manner at the beginning of the shift based on line balancing and production requirements.verifying that the labels are correct and that the quantities per lot are as indicated.performing some clerical functions including writing scrap reports, training records, production metrics, and manufacturing documents.maintaining organization of kanban and other storage areas on the manufacturing floor.verifying compliance with quality policies and productivity targets.supporting and promoting the safety and industrial hygiene objectives in the plant.verifying each associate's training against requirements and ensuring that standard work is being met.performing audits to gmp's.participating in continuous improvement actions.supporting and administering award and recognition programs.some other responsibilities may be added, as well as some of those listed may not be assigned.qualifications requirements: high school or equivalent.minimum of 2 years of experience as an assembly operator in manufacturing, preferably in the medical industry.excellent teamwork skills.basic knowledge of statistics, mathematics, and statistical process control (spc).excellent communication skills to serve as an interface between manufacturing, engineering, materials management, and quality control.knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.good communication skills in english are highly desirable.functional knowledge of pc applications and programs such as ms windows, excel, etc.johnson & johnson is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer.
