*overview*:
this position works closely with engineering, quality, and manufacturing groups to develop, implement, and manage supply chain commodity plans and perform supply chain strategic action items.
managerial experience meeting a dynamic market driven environment, such as: on time delivery strategies, increasing inventory turns, and profit and loss understanding is a plus.
*position responsibilities*:
- sourcing of new components (electronics, pcb's, plastics, packaging, displays, printing, etc), procurement activities and new product development requirements.
- continually work to improve quality, delivery and costs through programs which improve overall quality of vendors.
- clearly define requirements with engineering and vendors.
- review open requirements, monitoring vendor performance, and expediting where necessary.
- assure that problems relating to delivery, quality or pricing are promptly conveyed to the vendor and resolved in a timely manner per standard procedures.
- assure that orders are entered into and updated within the erp system in an accurate and timely manner, and that all order information is complete.
- review invoices for purchased commodities as required by accounts payable.
assure that documentation is correct.
resolve discrepancy problems with accounts payable in a timely manner.
- manage high exposure projects, ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- experience with manufacturing planning capacity.
- ability to read and understand mrp reports, stock status reports, material variance reports, assembly and machine load reports, and customer order shortage reports.
- responsible for projections of actual and planned inventory levels.
- work closely with the production, purchasing and manufacturing engineering teams to analyze, schedule and follow up production requirements to achieve desired delivery.
- order fill rates while not exceeding inventory goals and optimizing equipment utilization.
- analyze the available resources to create an accurate production plan and post in a weekly basis.
- responsible for projections of actual and planned inventory levels.
- established customer service levels in preparing the schedule.
- responsible to request and follow up finished goods inventory transfers.
- release and maintain production orders to meet mrp production messages.
- maintain and continually improve the quality management system in the areas assigned with a "risk management" approach.
- assure compliance to company procedures, policies, and most current revision of iso 9001 standard.
*minimum qualifications*:
- bachelor's degree in engineering or business-related field.
- at least 7 years' experience in purchasing, sourcing, materials management, planning and/or manufacturing operations.
- experience in electronics.
- demonstrated leadership and negotiation skills.
- successful track record of achievements.
- ability to learn quickly and willingness to take on new challenges.
- excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
- fully bilingual in english and spanish.
- skilled in time management with a sense of urgency.
- team oriented individual.
*desired qualifications*:
- cpim apics (needs to be obtained within the first 18 months of their employment).
- mba or other advanced degree.
- experience working with engineering changes and design on npd projects.
- experience in international sourcing.
- erp oracle, peoplesoft manufacturing experience.
- ability to manage high exposure projects.
- lean manufacturing or lean six sigma experience.
