model services analyst wpb
role purpose:
as model services analyst (“us compliance”), provide advice, guidance, opinions, direction, and training related to the regulatory landscape to the first line of defence/business. They ensure the business complies with the letter and spirit of relevant regulations, thereby delivering fair outcomes for customers and embedding a robust risk management culture in hsbc’s business processes. This key risk management role has a broad remit and responsibilities, which include, but are not limited to, analyzing key exception reports, performing compliance owned controls, tracking issue remediations, and monitoring control effectiveness.
the role is to collaborate with the us compliance function and support the overall compliance framework for hsbc’s wpb businesses. The role will act as a team extension for the us compliance team.
the role requires strong business understanding, project management expertise, control focus, and high-quality engagement across multiple us teams.
main activities:
1. run daily, monthly, and ad-hoc controls to escalate potential exceptions to us compliance management.
2. support initiatives to comply with regulations such as the alphabet regulations for consumer: (b, cc, dd, z, etc).
3. support wealth initiatives via a licensed employee.
4. ensure delivery of processes operate in a well-defined control environment.
5. ensure continuous review of processes with the objective of improving delivery timeframes, control environment, and identifying areas of improvement for rc operations.
6. contribute to strategic planning & decisions in rc management meetings.
7. understand stakeholder needs and manage expectations.

9. the job holder will be expected to lead initiatives, make decisions, and manage stakeholder and senior management relationships.
10. over time, the job holder will not be subject to close supervision and will be expected to exercise independent initiative and judgment to proactively overcome obstacles to successful outcomes, dealing with uncertainty and changing circumstances, such as interdependencies, opportunities, or risks.
