our sourcing team in mexico provides optimal solutions to the procurement needs of our businesses in the western hemisphere.
we are in contact with local, regional and global sourcing, business, quality and engineering teams to help identify the right suppliers, conduct negotiations and lead their development.
our services include collecting and analyze company spent data, searching, identifying and screening the suppliers that can meet the demand, leading negotiations with those suppliers, on board them and bring them into our supply chain rhythm successfully and with cost and lead time benefits.

this role is responsible of working with key business leaders, especially from sourcing and supply chain to understand the demand of our businesses, especially the needs for chemicals and non-metallic products.
search and screen suppliers, map the supplier base in the region of suppliers who have the potential to successfully meet our needs.
negotiate price, lead times, levels of service and terms and conditions with suppliers.
lead the supplier on-boarding, including coordinating auditing suppliers on social responsibilities and quality management systems.
ensure suppliers are successfully brought on board our supplier network and are performing optimally.
support supplier in their hourney to be a part of our supply chain in baker hughes.
as a lead category leader - regional mexico, chemicals and non-metallics, you will be responsible for:
- working with business teams to identify the demand, needs and potential opportunities.
- searching, screening and proposing the right suppliers that can optimally meet the demand of the western hemisphere region
- proposing the right suppliers that can fulfill our needs optimally
- negotiating terms and conditions and transmitting information to procurement.
address questions, needs, supplier set up and other administrative requirements of supplier on boarding.
- developing contracts as per the legal templates to ensure prices and service level agreements are contractually expressed with suppliers
- leading supplier on-boarding, including, audits, hicx on-boarding and other administrative requirements.
- handling communication with direct colleagues and the business about approaches and methods for solving problems
- leading as a project leader of medium sized projects or is a major contributor to bigger projects.
work goals typically take 3-6 months to complete and the time horizon for results/impact is typically 2-12 months after the event

to be successful in this role you will:
- have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, chemical engineering or industrial engineering is a plus, but will look at any other bachelor's.
- have a minimum of 3 years of experience in category management.
- have previous experience with the chemicals category is a plus.
- be fluent in english and spanish, written and spoken.
- have availability to travel 25% of the time (local and international).
