what you’ll do:
the data analyst is responsible for managing and optimizing the portfolio of local applications while driving productivity and automation across operations. This role entails understanding the applications landscape across functional areas, assessing utilization and lifecycle status, identifying decommissioning opportunities alongside functional teams when regional or global alternatives exist, and ensuring compliance with the organization’s it product index. Additionally, the specialist focuses on identifying manual, repetitive tasks that can be automated to enhance productivity, reduce operational inefficiencies, and free up time for higher-value activities that support business growth, collaborating closely with business and it stakeholders to align technology solutions with organizational goals.
key responsibilities:
1. applications landscape repository: the specialist develops and maintains a comprehensive repository of applications used across functional areas, categorizing them by purpose, functionality, and business criticality.
2. utilization analysis: this role analyzes application usage data and gathers user feedback to identify high- and low-utilization applications, ensuring they meet operational needs effectively.
3. lifecycle assessment: the specialist evaluates each application’s lifecycle stage—new, steady, or nearing retirement—based on vendor support, technology relevance, and business alignment.
4. decommissioning and migration opportunities: working with functional teams, the specialist identifies opportunities to decommission or migrate local applications when viable regional or global alternatives exist, assessing cost and impact.
5. compliance and standards: this role ensures, in collaboration with it and business product owners, that all applications adhere to the organization’s it product index and comply with established standards for security, data privacy, and architecture.
6. productivity and automation optimization: the specialist identifies manual, repetitive tasks for automation, implementing solutions to boost productivity and allow teams to focus on high-value, growth-oriented activities.
7. stakeholder collaboration: collaboration with business and it stakeholders is key to understanding requirements and aligning application and automation strategies with organizational objectives.
8. reporting and documentation: the specialist generates reports on application portfolios and automation outcomes while maintaining detailed, up-to-date documentation for all managed systems and projects.
9. project management: this role involves leading or supporting projects related to application optimization, decommissioning, migration, or automation implementation as needed.
10. user training and support: the specialist provides training and collaborates with the automation team to ensure ongoing support for users on applications and automation tools.
