Deputy director (dd)
position summary:
reporting directly to the general director (gd), the dd provides executive, administrative, and development support to the gd and school board, as well as the senior leadership team (slt) and administration. The dd serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on all matters of the gd. The dd's principal role is to report to the gd regarding current structure, operation, and climate, as well as ensure leadership teams and staff are carrying out the established policies, processes, procedures, and attending to concerns raised by parents, students, and staff.
essential/primary responsibilities:
1. executive support:
assists the gd with daily administrative duties and completes a broad variety of administrative tasks that include managing an active calendar of appointments, completing reports, composing and preparing correspondence, and compiling documents for meetings.
2. communicates with the general staff on behalf of the gd and coordinates logistics with high-level meetings both internally and externally. Coordinates meetings and strategic activities with the senior leadership team (slt) and members of the teaching staff.
3. communicates directly and on behalf of the gd with board members, donors, foundation staff, and others on matters related to programmatic initiatives as directed.
4. supports the gd in external commitments related to the school, including service on external boards, committees, and other groups.
5. monitors the implementation and execution of existing policies, processes, and procedures, providing regular reports to the gd.
6. responds to stakeholder concerns, claims, and complaints through an investigative process, gathering evidence to respond both in action and communication.
7. supports staff by analyzing needs including time, space, and resources for learning and teaching, and acts as liaison for the staff to the gd and school administrator.

qualifications:
* master's degree in education or related field
* teaching certification or license in mexico or country of origin
* experience in leadership roles (e.g., principal, vice principal, head of school)
* knowledge and experience in international baccalaureate teaching and learning approaches, curriculum, and assessment practices
* strong communication and interpersonal skills
* enthusiasm for working with students and promoting their academic growth
* ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
* professional fluency in english or spanish (written and spoken)
* conversational fluency in the second language is a requirement
* experience working in a multicultural setting
