*data governance & practice lead*
*role purpose.
*the governance & practice lead is accountable for leading the standards, compliance & governance, reporting, kcis, kpis, and training & digital communications functions.
this role will work closely with the lam dao to ensure the organization is aligned to regulation standards and dao team members are properly trained and equipped to fulfill external and internal performance metrics.
*main activities*:
- prescribe data policies, procedures, and controls to drive a consistent data governance approach
- support dao lead in driving responses to audits, regulatory exams, and regulatory queries
- run steerco governance forums
- deliver on learning objectives and trainings across dao
- lead across dao communication plans and strategy
- drive dao performance according to reports, kcis, and kpis
- represent lam dao to internal and external executive stakeholders, especially pertaining to regulatory bodies
requirements
*requirements*:
- collaborate with regulatory bodies (i.e.
occ) and represent the lam dao throughout regulatory response processes
- interact and be a representative throughout the region at various levels of management on behalf of the dao
- interface with senior management across the lam for the various functions to ensure an integrated approach across all aspects of data management
- proactive sharing of data governance and training best practices and expectations across the lam
*qualifications - external*
- 5-10 years of hands-on experience with a large-scale data or project management and oversight experience
- knowledge of data governance practices, business, and technology issues related to data protection
- understanding of data-related government regulatory requirements and fluent with emerging trends and issues
- experience with regulatory compliance frameworks (i.e.
bcbs239, ccar, rdarr, ccpa)
- previous gb/gf systems knowledge to support stakeholder management
- working experience in an agile environment
- necessity to make robust/tough decisions that may be contrary to others' wishes and ability to prioritize competing demands
- a good knowledge of the group (or a similarly situated large global organization) and its strategy, internal policies, and procedures is preferable
- proven ability to manage a wide range of internal and external stakeholder relationships
- strong leadership and management ability, developing and motivating employees over multiple sites
- able to cope with pressure and tight deadlines and be change-oriented
- strong problem-solving skills
