*job summary*
the jci global products *data engineer* is a crucial member of a larger commercial operations & analytics team that supports 10+ distinct business units, all centralized business functions and a much larger combined sales team. This role is critical to executing and driving the improved processes and management of the snowflake environment for the global products business. This is a growing team that is developing a true professionalized data infrastructure. This role is specifically based on monterrey, mexico to participate as a key commercial operations resource within the jci monterrey business center location.
*principal duties*:
- manage and monitor our commercial self-service snowflake database
- monitor existing pipeline ingestions (dynamic tables) from centralized usable layer and implement pipeline enhancements
- performance tuning of snowflake database to ensure optimal warehousing, speed, etc.
- create and implement code changes processes between dev and prod environments
- work with solution team members to put in infrastructure changes needed for new downstream solutions and offerings
- collaborate with data management team members to ensure optimal data quality
- working within a data & analytics team consisting of us and india based resources
- team works directly with the commercial organization to support business units as well as executive leadership
- partners with other functional groups across enterprise (pricing, s&op, finance, etc)
- mix of in office and remote workers. Team members work independently but collaborate to achieve team goals
- team responsibilities consist of snowflake infrastructure, data modeling, data visualization/reporting, data governance
- manage/document downstream dependencies from other teams using data mart
- liaison between our team and enterprise it (through service tickets & relationships)
- create standard processes/documentation around security/access, data quality thresholds, and data availability
- create new data mart data sets for reporting where it isn't possible/efficient in power bi
*requirements*:
- snowpro core certified would be necessary, snowpro advanced would be ideal
- advanced sql knowledge
- familiarity with adf (azure data factory) a plus
- previous snowflake database management experience
