Job summary
this role works with the category management team to identify cost savings opportunities, research, evaluate, and select suppliers that meet organizational standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply. The successful candidate sets and achieves day-to-day objectives that have a significant impact on others within their job area.
main responsibilities:
* lead medium spend initiatives to improve year-over-year (yoy) savings and trade working capital (twc).
* review, approve or reject purchase requisitions through ariba, ensuring compliance with global procurement policy and accurate information for future spend analysis.
* drive spend analysis and clear spend reporting by reclassifying vendor spend into the proper taxonomy.
* collaborate with the procurement data team to build reporting/bi that accelerates savings initiatives.
* facilitate request for proposal (rfp) enablement with category managers, including data extraction, crunching, coordination, and bid analysis/scenario modeling to expedite decision-making.
* develop and execute strategy for sub-categories in partnership with category managers.
* monitor and manage spend under contract kpi by ensuring contracts are loaded into the clm tool, partnering with category managers.
* negotiate contracts and statements of work (sows) for assigned categories, understanding legal implications.
* provide market intelligence to category managers, enabling economics analytics and market trend understanding.
* generate financial/savings reports using preferred tools.
* engage and train indirect stakeholders on effective collaboration and utilization of solutions/agreements.
* support supplier business continuity program by implementing actions to achieve category targets.
* analyze spend data at a part number level to identify cost reduction, standardization, or simplification opportunities.
requirements:
* bachelor's degree in a related field.
* +4 years of experience in indirect procurement, with prior experience in professional services and logistics required.
* deep understanding of rfx processes and source-to-pay principles, including category management.
* ability to perform spend analysis and rationalize tail spend.
* clm principles and sow negotiation skills.
* strong ms office and advanced excel or vba skills required.
* microsoft power apps or other data tools preferred.
* strong analytical skills and business judgment.
* excellent english written and communication skills.
* apics training or certification is an asset.
* proven experience working with key performance indicators (kpis) and metrics.
* ability to drive continuous improvement and utilize lean/quality tools to reduce waste and maximize throughput.
