Job description:
strategic procurement leader
lead business unit teams in strategic planning, analysis and execution of consolidated procurement agreements and strategies that require evaluation of leading edge technology, extensive business opportunity and/or global application and coordination.
key responsibilities:
* negotiate supplier agreements and leverage supplier capabilities and volume.
* serve on negotiation teams and as negotiator, supporting strategy development and coordinating cross-functional business teams through a high level understanding of technology, value added engineering, industry and market conditions.
* pro-actively drive supplier productivity initiatives and jointly develop supplier quality road maps through the use of tqm principles.
* motivate stakeholders and seek diverse viewpoints to achieve business objectives.
* anticipate market changes and develop commodity plans that leverage supplier capability.
* support cross-functional initiatives to link supplier capabilities to potential product development/enhancement opportunities.
* formulate material flow and logistics strategies to support manufacturing initiatives.
* achieve business unit procurement goals and meet or exceed profit plan goals: cost savings, economics, supplier rationalization, npi and other agreed objectives.
* provide financial expertise/support in terms of supplier part specifications, tooling + investment budgets, customer conditions, cost tracking, etc.
* guarantee supplier pricing control over programs from phase 0-5 and over lifetime.
* coordinate supply chain requirements e.g. when/how to source, early sourcing, cross program supplier selection etc.
* ensure integration and communication with global commodity teams.
* control acquisition, sourcing on time and in line with expectations until sop.
requirements:
* bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, engineering or related technical area.
* +3 years experience in purchasing or related discipline (direct materials).
* experience in electronics (desirable).
* demonstrated leadership skills in communications and supplier relations.
* strong negotiating skills.
* exposure to commodity sourcing activity.
