what do you get to do in this position?
essential functions
1. act as a contributor to project teams, utilizing individual knowledge in component development within your expertise (steel or plastic depending on your expertise).
2. work directly with designers and engineers to optimize the part design early in the design process.
3. utilize corporate standardized processes to conduct manufacturability study assessing critical characteristics, risks, and developing mitigation plans.
4. actively engaged in cross functional design maturity level drawing reviews with project team prior to release.
5. early engagement with suppliers and external vendors to conduct advanced analysis techniques as appropriate.
6. develop a prototype tooling strategy and pool of suppliers to meet the needs of new product development quick action tooling.
7. utilize standardized processes for conducting financial assessment on the tooling size, cost, and capacity output based on unit volume forecasts and return on capital employed.
8. ensure the consistency and application of schneider global standards for tool design and establishment of production processes.
9. ensure the accurate forecasting and managing of operating and capital expense requirements from project start to final asset transfer.
10. develop target part cost estimate based on costing models and work with purchasing to leverage negotiations with external supply base.
11. protect schneider electric via thorough review of terms and conditions for tooling/parts suppliers.
12. responsible to drive processes and suppliers to ensure the availability of parts is aligned with project schedule through direct work with the project industrial leader.
13. responsible to actively participate / lead in tool design reviews, tool schedule, and tool approval, as well as the part qualification and process validation process while optimizing the performance.
14. responsible to obtain plant acceptance and provide the final sign-off on tool and process.
15. ensure compliance of all documentation in alignment with the global processes.
scope and size
individual role will be responsible for fabricated parts industrialization for several new product development projects and sometimes product evolution projects, depending on the projects and their workload needs.
capable of creating control process tools that help validate the quality of the product.

experience - required
1. 10+ years experience in molding, stamping, sheet metal tool and/or process.
2. experience in a new product development environment for fabricated part development.

1. parts cost actual vs forecasted target cost for the entire portfolio.
2. tools cost actual vs forecasted for the entire portfolio.
3. report actual hours spent vs budgeted for the respective projects.
4. production part / process quality metrics vs project targets for the entire portfolio.
5. participate and/or lead regional or global job animation initiatives and tasks.
6. demonstrate teamwork and communication skills in working with other functions.
7. demonstrate passionate, open, straightforward, challenging, and effective leadership skills.
knowledge and skills - required
1. strong communication skills in english (written and verbal) are mandatory.

travel required up to 25% (domestic and international based on project assignment).
