*general description*
the associate director of business development will conduct presentations, documents, and accurate analyses for financial issues, regulatory issues, and all pertinent guidelines in order to support edpr mexico's business development, power marketing, and origination negotiations.
you will also analyze market and regulatory trends to aid decision-makers in the identification of the most value-adding revenue strategy for edpr projects.
additionally, the associate director of business development will manage and oversee business development activities for the mexican platform of the company, including supporting solar development efforts and joint partnerships to develop, build and operate wind and solar projects.
*main accountabilities*:
- provide accurate analyses of renewable energy credits and power markets in order to support decision-making
- prepare responses to requests for proposals while working with the development team on the elaboration of the required documents in order to support negotiation activities
- build and maintain customer database and contact tracking system to ensure the reliability of information facilities future interactions with actual or potential customers
- analyze power purchase agreements and heading opportunities for near-term projects
- create and deliver presentations to potential ppa customers
- lead ppa and hedge agreement negotiations
- help to optimize the value of currently operating projects
- work with the development team to analyze transmission/market design effects on near-term projects
- manage and oversee business development activities, including supporting solar development efforts and joint partnerships to develop, build, and operate new projects
- develop lines of organic growth through agreements with technology providers, local partners, developers, investors, and other external parties
- provide technical and analytical support to regional executive vice presidents and regional directors of project management as needed during the development phase of wind and solar projects, mergers, acquisitions, and joint partnership transaction opportunities
- analyze the impact of current market rules by iso on near-term projects

*minimum qualifications*:
- bachelor's degree required; mba or other graduate degree preferred
- 6-8 years in the energy industry including analyses of market and regulatory trends
- experience with energy marketing and energy purchase/sale agreement negotiations preferred
- through knowledge of the manner in which mexican power markets operate, the characteristics of intermittent wind generation, share purchase agreements, development service agreements, power purchase agreements, and other frequently used master agreements (e.g., eei, isda)
