*responsibilities*:
- has a thorough understanding of our company’s policies, procedures, products and services and capabilities to serve our customers and serves as a resource to less experienced territory sales managers on complex issues.
- understands the customer’s business; communicates effectively with the customer and internal resources; and provides solutions to effectively serve the customer’s needs.
- develops and maintains effective working relationships with assigned customers while gaining an understanding of their businesses, organization, and needs. Plays a lead role in maintaining relationships with major customers.
- plays lead role in managing sales representatives in a territory to grow sales & follow a defined game plan.
- develops effective relationships with appropriate internal company resources to be able to serve as a liaison in effectively serving our customers.
- develops and implements a sales territory strategy that yields a sustainable competitive advantage that translates into continued growth and profitability consistent with the division’s strategic plan.
- serves as a mentor by providing training and guidance to less experienced territory sales managers.
- plays a lead role in developing new target accounts consistent with the sales territory, region, and division strategy.
- meets or exceeds established sales objectives.
- effectively implements new programs and projects within the assigned sales territory.
- partners with customer service and other internal company resources to develop solutions to any order processing issues. Serves in a leadership role in resolving complex issues.
- keeps the supervisor aware in a timely manner of any issues needing the supervisor’s involvement as well as any changes in customer or industry trends.
- maintains timely and accurate records and reports, as required.
- high school education is required. At least some college education in a related field is preferred. Has demonstrated the willingness to pursue appropriate professional certifications and continuing education. Has the necessary training to be proficient in the position.
- has more than five years of experience fully meeting the expectations of a field sales manager and/or has demonstrated a level of performance and leadership to qualify for the field sales manager position.
- has excellent communications and interpersonal skills to be able to interact effectively with customers and internal company resources.
- has developed and implemented an effective sales territory strategy.
- has demonstrated success in developing new target accounts.
- has demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding established sales objectives.
- has excellent computer skills and is proficient with all related company systems and programs.
