join us in the procurement execution center as a data analyst. In this role, you will be responsible for maximizing our rfx value by analyzing cost across supplier bids, performing scenario analysis in pursuit of cost optimization, while accelerating our rfp cycle time by pursuing automation across the multiple rfp stages. This role will work closely with the indirect buyer and category managers to ensure value is maintained post-rfp and that behaviors are effectively changed within jci to obtain the value projected as part of the rfx.
*responsibilities*:
- this role will perform multiple tasks within the rfp process to ensure quality of bid submissions and streamlines the rfx process by standardizing bid sheets.
- executes rfx support in coordination with indirect buyer, including: data extraction, data normalization preparation, optimization analytics, savings analysis, negotiation factbooks, among others.
- perform scenario analysis by doing multiple iterations of potential business allocations, in an effort to understand the multiple scenarios that jci can pursue, in order to identify the best scenario from a value-generation perspective. Scenarios can include: sensitivity analysis, cherry picking, keep incumbents, among others.
- this role will support calculation of baseline and comparing new cost to estimate cost impact/cost savings as part of the rfp.
- analyzes bid results for outliers, bid validity, among other criteria.
- drives automation within the rfp by building comprehensive negotiation workbooks by supplier, to enable data-driven supplier negotiations.
- post-rfp support including compliance reporting.
- works on ensuring the required data for rfp is extracted from various databases and prepared in accordance to perform the analytical task.
- performs data profiling and other data cleansing activities to measure data integrity and data quality issues.
- development and creation of knowledge bases (kbs) for automated data cleansing (i.e. Geographical location, supplier/shipper information, etc) as part of rfp preparation.
- perform benchmarking analytics to assess our performance against the market, by using external data and comparing to our internal data to assess opportunity for the businesses and plants.

*what we look for*:
- 2+ years of experience in procurement analytics, business analyst, data analysis or bi on related fields.
- bachelor’s degree in related field (engineering, computer science, data science) is preferred but not mandatory.
- knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical or database packages.

- ability to understand business requirements and translate into technical requirements.
- demonstrate ability to identify and implement change, drive results, provide value-added analysis to assist procurement leaders make informed decisions.
- comfort in operating within a dynamic, complex and matrixed organizational structure
- ability to establish credibility throughout the organization in processes and people by demonstrating jci values
- fluent english is required given the global nature of the role.
*technical / software*:
- advanced ms excel. Capability to code/develop simple macros in vba, advanced is a plus. Power bi: m or dax is a plus.
- capability to perform queries in sql/hql for data extraction.
- knowledge of data governance and data quality concepts (data profiling, data health, data cleansing, knowledge base, etc).
- knowledge of python focused on data analysis is preferred. (pandas, numpy)
- strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution-oriented approach toward business issues
