we’re on the lookout for a skilled and passionate pre-commissioning engineer with a solid background in umbilicals to help drive the success of exciting offshore and subsea projects. If you’re ready to take on new challenges and ensure that systems are installed, tested, and operating smoothly, this is the opportunity for you!
what you’ll be doing:
* lead the charge : oversee pre-commissioning activities for umbilical systems, ensuring everything meets high safety and quality standards.
* hands-on testing : perform system checks, inspections, and tests to ensure the reliability and functionality of umbilicals.
* collaborate : work closely with project teams, engineers, contractors, and vendors to guarantee that pre-commissioning tasks are executed efficiently and on time.
* problem solving : develop pre-commissioning procedures, document system statuses, and resolve any challenges that arise during commissioning.
* on-the-job support : provide technical support to offshore and onshore teams throughout installation and troubleshooting phases.
* conduct tests : assist with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical tests on umbilicals to ensure compliance with specifications.
* ensure safety : stay up-to-date with environmental, health, and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
* monitor progress : work alongside the project manager to keep projects on track, identify risks, and find creative solutions to any roadblocks.
* be a key player : participate in risk assessments and incident investigations to help mitigate risks and improve operational safety.
what you bring to the table:
* a bachelor’s degree in engineering (or related field).
* at least 5 years of experience in pre-commissioning, commissioning, or installation of umbilicals, preferably in subsea or offshore industries.
* strong knowledge of umbilical systems, their components, and how they function in subsea environments.
* familiarity with pre-commissioning and testing processes, including hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
* excellent project planning and technical documentation skills.
* ability to collaborate seamlessly with teams across various departments.
* a problem-solver who thrives under pressure in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
* proficiency in tools like autocad, office suite, and similar software.
* great communication skills to liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* willingness to travel offshore and internationally as needed.
bonus points for:
* experience in the oil and gas industry or with similar service providers.
* safety certifications like offshore survival or huet .
* familiarity with international standards (dnv, api, iso) and digital commissioning tools.
