regularly engage global engineering, program, purchasing, and finance teams to determine next steps and guide actions needed to deliver results.- investigate potential cost savings of system and component design using corporate tools such as cad (catia) and teamcenter digital buck.- consult wers and cmms to monitor progress of cost reduction actions.
escalate issues as required.- represent body engineering as the primary interface to ford assembly plant teams by driving manufacturing (vo) approvals and supporting part change scheduling into the plants and the required plant try-out activities.- manage status updates and tracking of cost saving ideas in the cost reduction idea database.- provide weekly progress reports on active cost saving ideas including status to targets.- support audit processes to ensure prompt realization of achieved savings.- detailed analysis of program launch issue design changes to identify better cost-efficient solutions.- support supplier engagement, vsm, value chain and other initiatives to enable target delivery.- use data analytic tools to identify cost saving opportunities in released designs.- develop special reports and analysis for management reviews and investigations.- help facilitate competitor benchmarking and internal material cost reduction events.- help facilitate ford and supplier manufacturing plant line walk events.- help facilitate annual cost strategy and tvm gap week activities including event planning and team support.what you'll need:- bachelor of science in mechanical engineering or equivalent.- at least 2 years of automotive engineering or similar experience
