Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for direct and indirect material (truck up fit equipment and/or assigned items), leveraging synergies across the enterprise and driving a “one supply chain” philosophy. Plan and implement activities for timely, cost-effective procurement, quality products, planning and on-time delivery of assigned category products.
prioritize and maintain balance between cost of acquisition and cost of possession to maximize return on investment including methodologies to maximize working capital.
strategic sourcing management:
collaborate with category managers to identify opportunities for electronic sourcing events, including electronic auctions.
analyze current spend data and supplier performance to recommend areas for potential electronic auction events to maximize cost savings and supplier competitiveness.
assist category managers in the definition of appropriate sourcing strategies, including auction lot structuring, volume segmentation, and timing of the events.
develop and manage a pipeline of upcoming electronic auction opportunities, ensuring all necessary information and specifications are collected and available for the event.
process responsibilities:
gather all necessary information for the electronic auction process, including detailed specifications, drawings, and volume data, ensuring all parties involved (internal teams and suppliers) have access to accurate and timely information.
onboard suppliers to the electronic auction platform, ensuring they are properly trained and prepared to participate in events.
provide training and support to suppliers on how to participate in electronic auctions, including platform navigation, understanding the rules of the event, and ensuring full participation.
monitor and manage electronic auction events, ensuring they are executed smoothly, addressing any issues or technical difficulties promptly.
document and report the results of electronic auctions, ensuring transparency and clear communication with both internal stakeholders and suppliers.
collaborate with the category managers to ensure the appropriate contract management and supplier selection post-auction.
arrange sourcing decision meetings with both category managers and event participants post-event.
process continuous improvement:
continuously evaluate and improve the e-sourcing and electronic auction process to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
work with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation or enhanced technologies that improve the electronic auction process.
collect feedback from suppliers and internal stakeholders to identify areas for improvement in future auctions and to ensure a positive and fair experience for all parties involved.
stay up-to-date on best practices, new tools, and emerging trends in e-sourcing and electronic auctions to ensure the company is leveraging the latest and most effective strategies.
develop procedures, work instructions and rules for the electronic sourcing events.
qualifications and skills:
bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, procurement, engineering, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with a strong focus on e-sourcing, electronic auctions, or electronic procurement.
experience with rfqs (request for quotations), rfis (request for information), and other sourcing events.
familiarity with procurement and electronic auction platforms such as unit 4, ariba, jaggaer, oracle procurement, or other similar tools.
analytical skills: strong ability to analyze spend data, supplier performance, and sourcing strategies to identify opportunities for electronic auctions.
influencing and communication: ability to influence and collaborate with category managers and other stakeholders without direct authority. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with both internal teams and suppliers.
project management: ability to manage multiple e-sourcing projects simultaneously, ensuring timely execution and resolution of any issues that may arise.
supplier relationship management: strong skills in managing and training suppliers, ensuring they are well-prepared for electronic auctions and that their needs are addressed throughout the process.
attention to detail: high attention to detail in the preparation and execution of electronic auctions, ensuring all data and specifications are accurate.
