we are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as vice president - risk stewardship coe in global service center (gsc) hsbc.

main responsibilities:
* act as sub functional lead in coe mexico for fc risk stewardship.
* responsible for delivering end results and contributing to planning, finances, budget, and policy development.
* supervise a department or a functional unit/area team.
* act as escalation point for complex issues.
* exercise risk steward challenge and act as independent trusted advisory in governance forums, issue management, fostering a compliance culture, and optimising relations with risk owners and control owners.
* support the head of regional fc and lobs risk stewards to provide direct oversight or through the team of fc controls to effectively challenge risks or control outcomes through analysis and review of issue management, l1 and l2 controls, inherent and residual risks.
* ensure overdue issues and actions are communicated to the relevant stakeholders as per guidance.
* maintain up-to-date knowledge of key regulatory changes and communicate appropriate policy and framework to manage the changes.
requirements:
* 8-10 years of experience in financial crime risk or similar risk function.
* proficient knowledge across all financial crime risks in the financial services industry.
* working knowledge of the line of business/function supported, as well as pertinent compliance risk policies and regulations.
* strong understanding of how controls mitigate fc risk and the various underpinning activities forming the overall risk management framework.
* excellent communication skills (oral, written, and presentational) with the ability to influence others through compelling facts, thought-provoking discussion, and logic.
