*financial accounting data manager*
*role purpose*
this role sits in mexico supporting financial accounting team.
the key objective is to support finance transformation which generally include finance initiatives like strategic finance on the cloud program and also support strategic programs & bau changes initiated by global businesses & functions.
psgl is the core ledger of the bank and fds is core finance data warehouse.
both systems are considered the golden source for population of finance data that will be used to facilitate several reporting areas such as capital, liquidity, irr bb, regulatory and management & business reporting.
this role is part of the financial accounting team and will interact heavily with mexico data operations and finance change teams.
as part of this sub-function, the team is responsible for developing or enhancing the interface between psgl/fds and downstream finance systems supporting regulatory reporting, financial reporting, business finance and other business areas.
this covers all aspects of implementation projects including business analysis, requirements gathering, rules table design, business rules development, testing and deployment.
principal accountabilities
- financial accounting and reporting requirements gathering and formulation of solution to ensure ps general ledger and arrangement records supports various finance reporting needs.
- perform analysis of the downstream finance requirements and attain in-depth understanding of the financial information required to correctly map and populate the necessary information from psgl.
- design the configuration of out-bound rules and develop mapping rules & attributes translation rules to link psgl/fds with target systems
- effective communication within the team and with business partners
- take accountability and ownership of the tasks and responsibility assigned
- adopt a collaborative approach to working with other teams across organisation boundaries.
- take a proactive approach to own development by seeking performance feedback and coaching
requirements
*experience*
qualifications: finance degree, engineer degree, data scientist.
mba, post graduate preferably in finance or banking domain with significant functional and analytical experience.
- experience: overall 5+ years of professional experience in finance systems implementation projects e.g oracle, sap or similar

*experience in building reports using technology like qlik, tablaeu, essbase would be an advantage.
- experience in managing, negotiating and influencing senior business relationships across geographies
- business change management experience; ability to drive change projects and solutioning in a finance environment
- complex analytical reasoning skills enabling appraisal of the global & regional reporting requirements and translate into functional requirements for system development
- strong functional leadership skills and ability to deal with complex issues such as escalations and need for confidentiality
- should be able to deliver high-quality service in shared service finance environments based on pla's and performance standards
- experience in working in a global environment
- strong communication
- excellent planning and organisational skills with ability to adapt to changing situations and to understand issues quickly
- capable of undertaking transfer of knowledge through training/coaching within & outside of team
- knowledge of hsbc systems like psgl/fds or other finance systems will be an added advantage
- working knowledge of banking products & systems and accounting & reporting thereof
