- msci equity indexes are maintained with the objective of reflecting the evolution of the underlying equity markets on a timely basis.
- the corporate events teams manages ongoing corporate action-related changes to the indices resulting from m&as, spin-offs, bankruptcies, reorganizations, dividends and other corporate actions (e.g. stock splits, rights offerings, dividends, etc.). These changes affect many aspects of an index and its constituents.
- depending on the nature of the change there may be changes in index memberships, weights, size, style and industry classifications.
- the team is responsible for timely identification, review and implementation of corporate action related changes to facilitate appropriate maintenance of the equity indexes

*your key responsibilities*
- check news, identify and monitor corporate actions and markets, and ensure correct interpretation of such events in msci market factual corporate event database
- become an expert for all corporate actions (cash dividends, stock dividends, split, rights issues, merger & acquisitions, spin off etc.) including region specifics.
- resolve client queries related to corporate actions and other mfcs services.
- escalate complex cases to global decision-making committees in a timely manner and provide strong recommendations
- develop strong understanding of corporate events services (paf service, instrument transaction service) and closely work with downstream users to improve the quality and timeliness of the service
- identify enhancements to market factual database and work closely with data solutions and it team

*your skills and experience that will help you excel*
- 0 - 4 years’ experience in the financial sector with direct practical experience in equity markets
- bachelor or master’s degree in finance, economics or mathematics (including equivalents of ca, cfa, frm, mms, mba). Engineering degree is preferred.
- highly motivated individual with critical thinking, curiosity, and excellent communication skills.
- ability to effectively work with diverse cultures in a global team; sensitivity and appreciation for diverse cultural norms/styles. Flexible in working hours
- excellent planning and organizational skills
- demonstrated track record in people management and handling of challenging environment
- ability to understand impact of corporate actions on passive and active fund managers portfolio
- strong excel, word and power point skills
