job description:
the lifecycle component engineer will also have the responsibility to ensure all ciena products china rohs and taiwan rohs declarations are documented and up to date as well as to support any other business needs and/or technical issues related to the component lifecycle.
key responsibilities:
the lifecycle component engineer is responsible for the following tasks in a timely & professional manner.
- daily processing of supplier's product change notices (validation, where-use, documentation, action) within agile plm system.
- daily processing of supplier's end of life notices (validation, where-use, documentation, action) within agile plm system and eol home grown tool.
- daily processing of ciena's component request (validation, documentation, action) within agile plm system.
- weekly collaboration with 3rd party partners to acquire component lifecycle information.
- improvement of component lifecycle process - automation project
- weekly processing of china rohs and taiwan rohs certificates
- management of the component preference levels
- generation of weekly management metrics
qualifications and experience required:
- technical degree or bachelor's in electrical engineering with 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.
- demonstrate experience/knowledge/understanding of ciena component commodities.
- experience/proficient with agile plm system.
- quick learner.
- strong communication skills, with ability to articulate challenges and issues.
- ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams (at ciena & with suppliers/3rd parties partners).
- strong leadership skills and influence in order to drive process improvements as required.
- clear sense of accountability, attention to details, organized and motivated to excel.
- focused on completing assigned tasks in a timely manner.
