Main purpose
the culinary chef specialized in research and development (r&d) is responsible for the creation and innovation of new products, recipes, and culinary techniques. This role works closely with the new ventures team to develop and experiment products that meet market trends, customer needs, and the company’s quality standards to explore new business models globally.
Main responsibilities
- create and develop new and innovative food products and recipes.
- experiment with ingredients, techniques, and culinary technologies to enhance or create new products.
- adapt recipes and products to meet specific dietary needs and market preferences.
- analyze market trends and consumer preferences to identify innovation opportunities.
- conduct product testing and gather feedback from customers and consumers.
- collaborate with other departments, such as marketing, production, and sales, to ensure the success of developed products.
- coordinate with suppliers to source high-quality ingredients and explore new ingredients and technologies.
- conduct kitchen tests to evaluate the feasibility and quality of new products.
- adjust and refine recipes based on test results and feedback.
- document all experiments, tests, and product developments.
- prepare detailed reports on product development progress and present findings to senior management.
- ensure all developed products comply with food safety regulations and company quality standards.
- implement and maintain quality control procedures in new product development.
Complementary information
- previous experience as a chef in an r&d or food product development environment.
- advanced knowledge of culinary techniques, food science, and food technology.
- ability to work in a test kitchen environment and conduct rigorous testing.
- excellent research, creativity, and innovation skills.
- academic background in culinary arts, food science, or a related field.
- excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
