what you will do?
we are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated purchasing specialist to join our indirect pbu procurement team. In this role, you will support the indirect procurement buyers and managers by reviewing and processing purchase orders in alignment with company policies and procedures. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and gain exposure to procurement activities within a dynamic and collaborative team environment.
how you will do it?
* purchase order processing: review and process purchase orders (pos) to ensure compliance with internal policies, approval hierarchies, and accuracy in terms of pricing, vendor details, and other critical information.
* policy compliance: ensure all purchase requests follow established company policies and procurement processes. Identify and escalate non-compliant orders as needed.
* customer service: develop a solution when necessary to meet customer needs for timeliness and quality.
* supplier coordination: communicate with suppliers to confirm orders, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
* invoice resolution: assist in resolving invoice discrepancies by working with accounts payable, suppliers, and procurement buyers.
* support market intelligence activities, economics measurement, and putting together meaningful reports for different levels of stakeholders.
* other procurement duties as assigned
major areas of responsibility will include:
* work with cross-functional teams such as accounts payable and field operations to align objectives, priorities, and execution plans.
* create and execute action plans and monitor and report progress against plans
* create and deliver executive-level updates on project plans
* lead an effective way of working to ensure our key suppliers accounts are up to date
* maintain continuous monitoring and remove barriers that may arise to keep our key suppliers accounts up to date
* resolves escalation issues and find resolution
* represent the business requirements of north america field
* along with leaders from finance and field operations, lead urgent problem solving and process improvement efforts related to procure to pay process
* performs special projects and other duties as assigned
what we look for?
* 1 to 3 years of experience in procurement. Experience with indirect materials categories (mro, professional services, logistics, capex) is a plus.
* bachelor's degree in international relations, international business or related.
* strong attention to detail and accuracy, sense of urgency and accountability.
* effective communication and organizational skills.
* strong ms software skills required – advanced excel preferred. Experience with erp systems (e.g. Oracle, sap) is a plus.
* ability to drive continuous improvement, by identifying opportunities and streamlining processes.
* capability to learn and understand the business and the assigned categories, to develop business judgment, which will allow the candidate to better execute and generate value for jci.
* business/conversational english is a must due to the nature of the role.
