.directly reporting to lac countries chief financial officer, the lac regional controller will be responsible for establishing a solid alignment through a vertical controllership structure which supports all local operations across the region and contributes to keep a timely and accurate delivery of financial information by country as well as the consolidated lac region.key responsibilities:- reviewing and analyzing lac region's financial statements and reporting packages for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with us gaap, sec requirements as well as local regulators across the region whenever necessary.- assist the lac countries chief financial officer, as well as local cfo´s and controllers in planning and monitoring all financial processes and in identifying areas for improvement in workflows, systems, and financial reporting for the region.- oversight and interact directly with local controllers to set general criteria, solve financial and accounting matters, and analyze financial results; assess and support themon current practices and procedures, presenting findings and making recommendations for improvements in processes and controls across the region.- perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested, identifying the main businesses and/or operational drivers for differences of current results against budgets, forecast and prior periods, delivering valuable information for the decision making of top management.- support on all financial audit activities as needed (internal and external processes).- act as a solid business partner with any contact point within the company (commercial, technical and / or operational staffs).qualifications:- qualified cpa with a proven track record in a global, senior finance leadership role within the insurance industry.- strong operational experience with u.s. Gaap as well as statutory reporting for lac countries.- ability to analyze and design processes and identify process improvement opportunities.- solid problem-solving structuring and counselling / influencing senior leaders.- flexible leadership style to interact effectively with people at all levels in different countries and situations.- business and financial acumen, complemented with change and project management skills.- well-developed communication skills, verbal and written.
