the mighty buildings team is looking for a *plant engineering director* who's focus will be on leading and coordinating assigned functions and programs within the engineering, technical plant operations and maintenance departments.
setting goals, establishing priorities, managing resources, developing concepts and approaches, and reviewing projects progress and results are key objectives.
*responsibilities*:
- support implementation of proven and newly developed automated equipment.
- lead controls designs (controls requirements, automation, integration)
- support production to reduce downtime with increased quality.
- administer and resolve all technical maintenance issues with focus on mttf and mttr metrics.
- develop predictive maintenance indicators to increase reliability and reduce downtime.
- develop process failure mode effects and criticality analysis (pfmeca) with defined contingency plan and disaster recovery.
- robust programming skills to support production and work on advanced automation.
- develop and implement poka-yokes to improve quality.
- use control standards to develop requirements for automated cells.
- enable automation safety.
- understand and communicate applicable safety standards: general industry (osha 1910), machine guarding, robot safety (ansi/ria 15.06), automated vehicles, conveyor safety.
- understand ergo analysis with the use of human tech software.
- completion of risk assessments on all automated equipment.
- knowledgeable in ms-office and autocad.
- trained in rs logix 500, rs logix 5000, baluff i/o link, and fanuc robot programming is a plus.
- ability to read and create electrical drawings.
- ability to create 2d cell layout in autocad.
- lead mentor/train controls tech to support controls production.
- train supervisor, area leaders, production on controls based systems.
- communicate across cross-functional groups.
- support kaizen projects.
- hire and staff critical resources to support plant operations.
this includes contracting of 3rd parties to get the work done.
- lead all capex project deployments, planning, and budget tracking.
- maintain an efficient and safe working environment for all employees per regulatory standards and company safety policies.
- ensure compliance to all state and federal regulations and design appropriate plant maintenance programs to reduce all downtime.
- manage manufacturing of all products effectively and implement.
- monitor all capital improvement projects and organize various performance appraisals and recommend training programs as per requirement.
- perform regular audits on all safety control programs.
- design efficient training programs and prepare all short and long term programs and ensure achievement of all objectives with required budget.
- collaborate with various departments to maintain mechanical integrity of all plant programs.
- administer all activities and assist in manufacturing of all new products and recommend improvements to existing products.
- design all preventive maintenance programs in coordination with maintenance and engineering staff.
- evaluate all production activities and prepare reports for all activities and inspect all associate plant machines and equipment.
- analyze all equipment requirements and assist in requisition of all tools and equipment.
- resolve all maintenance issues and recommend improvements to the same if required.
- knowledge of principles, theories, and practices of engineering.
- knowledge of regulatory codes and standards such as gmp (good manufacturing practices), osha (occupational safety and health act), and nec (national electric code), and nfpa (national fire protection act).
- knowledge of distribution control system (dcs) programming.
- knowledge of electrical engineering in order to understand system interactions, sizing of equipment, and fuses.
- knowledge of hmi/scada configuration as needed to complete required tasks and assignments.
- knowledge of plc software (rslogix).
- knowledge of project management
- knowledge of microsoft excel, word, and access required.
- knowledge of visual basic required.
- knowledge of principles, theories, and practices of group dynamics and/or team development.
- skill in using basic hand tools, and torque calibration tools.
- skill in using specialized software such as autocad, catia viewer, maximo, andersen quality gate, and sql enterprise server.
- ability to use logic to analyze or identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts associated with information or data to draw conclusions.
- ability to work with or contribute to a work group or team to complete assigned task(s).
