the purpose of this position is to secure export shipments on time delivery in compliance with applicable regulations & lego group policies, in the right place, within the right cost as part of daily completion, through effective communication with internal & external collaborators and functional knowledge having in mind customer needs. This allows the business to deliver finished good product to the distribution centers and/or to other production sites what is needed from the company to continue their production. The responsibility per specialist in the department splits according to the specific traffic and customs assigned.
core responsibilities
* ensure timely and compliant export shipments delivery in line with lego group policies and regulations.
* handle daily transport operations with an end-to-end approach, coordinating bookings and deliveries based on agreed incoterm.
* collaborate with us and/or mx customs brokers to maintain a smooth operation.
* be responsible for in-house mx customs broker operations for exports from the company to the us, ensuring compliance and timeliness.
* keep systems and tools updated with accurate data for mexican customs and customs brokers.
* create and maintain processes and user guides, updating them as regulations and digital platforms change.
* proactively propose process improvements and use software solutions for increased efficiency and quality.
* serve as a backup for other departmental positions to ensure operational continuity.
do you have what it takes?
* education : bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in foreign trade, customs, international commerce, or similar.
* certifications : customs compliance certifications (aeo, iva-ieps) and preferably ctpat and aeo auditor training.
* experience : 5 years in immex and aeo companies or mexican customs broker agencies coordinating air, land, sea, train and road export shipments.
* knowledge : familiarity with mexican international trade law, customs law, free trade agreements, and relevant certifications.
* software proficiency : experience with annex 24 software and sap or equivalent.
* logistics understanding : knowledge of transport modes, storage, and detention/demurrage concepts.
* skills : strong interpersonal, communication, collaborator management, and a proactive attitude; ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
