your role
* interface with cross functional team to design and develop functional solutions that achieve design requirements & to ensure proper design interfaces with other components, and all requirements are met.
* work with other functions design / releasing teams to ensure consistency in requirements, standards, and practices across programs.
* translate functional objectives into technical requirements and solutions
* create and analyze alternative design concepts
* integrating system components
* support benchmarking of competitive vehicles.
* maintain core engineering design practices (edp’s)
* implement innovation roadmaps as well as coordinate the advancement of new technologies and procedures to improve program timing.
* define customer interface requirements
* own and update design failure mode & effects analysis (dfmea), design verification plan & report (dvpr), and failure mode effect analysis (fmea) - ensure functional objectives, guidelines and corporate requirements are met
* harmonization and quality improvement activities
* cost value analysis
your profile
* bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, and or mba from an abet accredited university (or equivalent)
* knowledge lighting development, lighting measurement, lighting simulation using speos or any other simulation tools
* experience developing performance standards, creating master sections and surface feasibility proposal for pdo
* knowledge of can/lin bus and experience with circuit analysis
* design for six sigma dfss experienced (green belt or black belt preferred), shainin green belt
* nx and teamcenter knowledge
* automotive interior product design components/systems design/development/releasing experience
* experience with tooling feasibility in injection molded plastics/decorative components
* highly motivated individual with excellent communication, leadership, organizational skills, excellent relationship building skills with the ability to work in a cross functional team environment
* knowledge of design failure mode & effects analysis (dfmea), design verification plan & report (dvp&r), fea, mold flow virtual validation, gd&t, and i-speed
