as a sr enterprise software packaging engineer, you will support and maintain the software packaged catalog available on self-service portal for enterprise end-users. Apply software lifecycle management, use microsoft endpoint manager product (sccm), microsoft intune, powershell, or manual methods to manage sccm clients to software packages to remote servers and workstations, adhere to configurations, change, and release management procedures, and assist field support technicians with workstations package deployment problems. Use flexera adminstudio and other packaging tools to create msi, msix packages or repackage .exe or msi apps for global and customized deployments. Assist the cyber security team with maintaining a security vulnerability assessment for third party applications.
essential responsibilities
* work with the existing team to ensure all members can adequately package and deploy applications
* create a consistent user experience for the deployment of applications
* ensure all baseline applications are automatically deployed across the enterprise
* work with stakeholders to identify their software package requests needs
* engage with business users and other teams across the enterprise to ensure that software packages meet the requirement of the organization and are distributed in a consistent manner
* responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining overall client and server health for entire sccm infrastructure
* resolve packages issues on distribution points.
* troubleshoot and resolve sccm management point policy issues and package deployment failures.
* create software packages for third party security patches or updates.
* create the sccm deployment packages for security configuration changes.
* create software packages for removing unauthorized/unsupported apps.
* create software packages for security hardware updates.
qualifications/requirements
* bcs degree and 10+ years of experience with it
* 5+ years of experience with acquiring, reviewing, and releasing approved baseline releases, builds, and software packages for servers or workstations using automated and manual methods.
* experience with using microsoft configuration manager/intune tools.
* experience with microsoft administration tools
* experience with flexera adminstudio tool
* experience with using trouble ticketing systems, servicedesk or servicenow
* experience with following service management concepts, including change management, configuration management, and release management
* ability to work independently and as a member of a team
desired characteristics
* planning and deploying system center 2012 configuration manager
* administering system center configuration manager/intune
* integrating mdm and cloud services with system center configuration manager
* experience of windows scripting
* microsoft powershell
* msix technology (transformation of classic msi packages to msix)
