Position: staff/senior
the opportunity:
work as staff/senior on multiple workstreams for middle and back-office functions for an asset management client.
position responsibilities:
* interact with the pricing vendors to price securities
* communicate daily inquiries to appropriate internal departments
* monitor and data mine the daily pricing for anomalies and potential issues
* perform deep dives on issues related to securities pricing and methodology
* issue price challenges
* interact with portfolio managers as an internal consultant
* interact with internal and external audit teams
* audit internal processes, identify and mitigate risks, and develop and enhance controls
* develop reports and presentations for funds, the boards, legal, and portfolio management
* maintain current knowledge of domestic and foreign securities markets and monitor effects on funds, pricing, and valuation procedures
* manage various projects related to process improvements, procedures, and systems development
position requirements
* minimum of a bachelor's degree, preferably in a quantitative field
* minimum 3 years of experience in security valuation and mutual fund operations
* experience working with trading desk and portfolio managers
* market data knowledge from working with providers of financial data, such as bloomberg, thomson reuters, intex, and others
* experience working with business intelligence reporting tools and dashboards, such as powerbi (preferred) or other platforms
* advanced excel/vba, sql, python, strongly preferred
* exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
preferred qualifications
* advanced degree in accounting, finance, mathematics, statistics, engineering, economics
* ca, cpa or cfa designation
* experience with mutual fund governance and fund boards
* experience working with business analysis and project management
