responsibilities:
* investment banking domain knowledge: demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of investment banking operations including trade lifecycle, asset classes, financial instruments, and regulatory frameworks. Stay updated with industry trends, market developments, and regulatory changes in the investment banking domain. Apply domain knowledge to analyze complex business requirements and provide strategic recommendations for improving processes and systems.
* business reporting framework development: design and develop effective business reporting frameworks to support investment banking operations. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into actionable data models and reporting solutions. Develop data visualization tools and dashboards to present complex data in an easily understandable format. Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and reliability in reporting by implementing appropriate data validation and quality control measures.
* data analysis and interpretation: collect, organize, and analyze large volumes of data from various sources including transactional systems, market data feeds, and external data providers. Conduct data profiling, data mapping, and data transformation activities to ensure data consistency and accuracy. Utilize statistical techniques and data mining methods to derive meaningful insights and identify patterns and trends. Present data analysis results to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, including written reports and visual presentations.
* reconciliation (preferred): conduct reconciliations of investment banking data including trade confirmations, settlements, cash balances, and positions. Identify discrepancies and work collaboratively with relevant teams to investigate and resolve issues in a timely manner. Develop and implement reconciliation processes and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Monitor reconciliation activities and report on key performance indicators.
* stakeholder collaboration: liaise with business users, technology teams, compliance officers, and operations teams to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives. Collaborate with stakeholders to define key performance indicators (kpis) and metrics for measuring and monitoring investment banking performance. Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including presenting findings, recommendations, and project updates.
requirements:
* masters degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
* strong experience as a data analyst, business analyst, or related role in the investment banking domain.
* understanding of any of the domains: equities, fx and derivatives, payments, trade finance, custody, asset servicing, syndicated loans will be an added advantage.
* proficiency in developing and implementing business reporting frameworks and data visualization tools.
* hands-on experience with data analysis and interpretation including data mapping, data transformation, and statistical analysis.
* familiarity with reconciliation processes and their importance in investment banking operations.
* solid understanding of data quality principles and techniques.
* proficient in using data analysis tools, data manipulation languages, and reporting tools (e.g., sql, excel, tableau, power bi).
* strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to derive insights from complex datasets.
* excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
* detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
