the senior primary substation engineer is responsible for supervising and leading an engineering team, in addition to developing primary engineering design.
how you’ll make an impact
* develop project design criteria for substations/switchyards (development of main one line and station auxiliary one-line diagrams, general arrangement, layout and elevation drawings, trench and conduit design, and grounding drawings).
* support 3d design for proposals and conceptual designs for pricing purposes. Perform electrical engineering design and calculations.
* perform cable ampacity, grounding, lightning, illumination, and station auxiliary load calculations.
* create equipment specifications and detailed bill of materials.
* develop conceptual layouts for hvdc and svc.
* support marketing and project teams in the execution of a project and in customer meetings, ensuring that the engineering deliverables meet the target schedule dates, and inform the project manager of possible delays or risks in the particular project.
what you bring
* university degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
* 8 or more years of experience with a focus on primary electrical design for high voltage substations.
* knowledge of ansi standards; iec standards knowledge is a plus.
* familiarity with autocad, microstation, and revit.
* fluent in english, with good communication skills, teamwork, and self-driven attitude.
