Production planning manager
responsibilities:
1. manages sales and operations planning (s&op) process and chairs quarterly cross-functional review meetings.
2. chairs weekly production control meetings with production, warehouse, quality, engineering, and purchasing in support of mps management and execution.
3. manages master production schedule (mps) and marketing forecast evaluation to determine production requirements.
4. leads mps review meetings with management to raise awareness of plans based on business financial requirements, budgets, and labor resources.
5. key contributor at new product introductions/manufacturing transfer meetings to ensure materials and labor are properly planned to support prototype, pilot, and production requirements.
6. loads confirmed planned forecasts into the sap/erp system to support new and existing device, spare parts, consumables, and accessories requirements. Adjusts mps accordingly to accommodate changes in marketing requirements, manufacturing capacity, and material availability.
7. develops schedules for special service parts and upgrades in support of demands that affect installation base.
8. manages end-of-life (eol) planning; oversees component engineers' site and provides feedback on past and future requirements as they relate to determining strategies for addressing component eol and ltb.
9. develops and manages key strategies/programs to drive continuous improvements in programming and planning.
10. works on a wide range of problems where data analysis is required, summarizing information and presenting conclusions.
11. inventory management and inventory forecasting - creates inventory forecasts and manages them tightly.
12. manages and forecasts departmental operating budgets and monitors expenditures.
13. manages and maintains collaborative relationships with marketing, r&d, engineering, logistics, quality systems, production, accounting, and information technology.
14. manages and optimizes department structure, policies, and procedures for efficiency and compliance and reviews performance of direct subordinates in accordance with individual objectives.
15. provides assistance and training to planning team members.
requirements:
1. bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in supply chain management preferred.
2. 5 - 8 years managing master scheduling / production planning/ s&op.
3. supply chain management experience in a medical device company preferred.
4. expertise in end-of-life and last-purchase materials management, including sourcing and qualification activities in support of new and legacy products.
5. extensive erp system knowledge, preferably sap experience; including understanding of all associated modules in a manufacturing environment and their relationship with each other.
6. strong management skills with the ability to lead cohesive and productive teams and orchestrate appropriate availability of resources.
7. strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization; verbal and written with effective presentation and reporting skills.
8. demonstrated success with planning requirements for multiple product lines at different stages of product life cycle within a full-service manufacturing organization.
9. strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Ability to analyze data, report and provide recommendations.
10. ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing and product development environment with limited direction.
11. knowledge of gmp, fda regulations, and iso 13485 requirements.
12. must be able to maintain a high level of cooperation with other departments.
13. proficient in ms office applications.
14. strong and proven leadership skills.
