the position lies within our equities stock lending operations specialising in collateral under the market & securities services operation umbrella.
the job holder is responsible to support the securities finance front office within a settlements role relating to collateral management covering uk balance sheet for us businesses.
we are a global team covering multiple balance sheets for stock lending product under the markets business.
we are responsible for ensuring all equity stock loan trades booked flow through the various stages of the trade life cycle and collateralised successfully.
international settlement specialist
main objective:
associate will be responsible to oversee the daily functions of international settlements.
review the fail report on a daily basis.
ensure that all trades are instructed to settle on a timely basis.
reconcile daily stock record/ depot breaks/ client breaks
activities:
- responsible for overseeing and managing settlements in dtc for affiliates hbeu and hbce
- ensure timely and accurate settlement, minimize operational risks
- monitor rad rec/del for unmatched items throughout the day
- monitor trade statuses and proactively address any settlement issues
- liaisse with middle-office forany trade discrepancies
- knowledgeable in crossborder settlement
- perform daily reconciliation of cash and stocks
- investigate and resolve any discrepancies promptly
- reconciliation - except for hbap entity
- funding - euroclear (92362), domestic market settlement for offcycle and failing dvp trades
- transaction fees, repatriation.
- client support (h s i) is handled by client admin
- allocations for markets brazil, colombia, chile and peru
- pinksheets (adp) manual instructions - across all markets
- entities covered: hsi (hsbc securities usa), hbeu (hsbc bank plc, hbap (hsbc asia pacific), hbce (hsbc france)
- independent decision making abilities while engaging senior management
- identify high risk functions ensuring strong controls are in place to mitigate risk
requirements
knowledge and skill requirements:
- computer literacy, knowledge of excel and word
- detail oriented, good problem solver
- should have good communication skills
- an overall knowledge of all equity products
- aggressive and quick learner who is able to multi-task
- knowledge of adp, gfw, dtcc (pbs, settlement web), euroclear, gmg, hub,etp, syn
- minimum of 3-5 years of settlement experience
