*responsibilities*:
- the employee relations/labor relations senior specialist, is responsible for managing employee relations and labor relations cases for designated workforce group(s) and may assist er/lr managers in specific employee relations and labor relations duties
- assist with complex employment policy interpretation, workforce grievances, advice of management on discipline, coaching and training of management and employees, while driving adherence to standards
- responsible for using standard tools, processes, and guidelines to research/investigate concerns, identify policy violations and evaluate findings, to ensure appropriate actions are consistently administered
- support the collective bargaining administration and negotiations in the unionized sites and will manage non-complex grievances and discipline cases in unionized environments
- operate as a steward for the company, escalating matters of concern when necessary to ensure that the interest of the company is protected
- manages assigned cases to ensure appropriate resolution of service requests within defined time periods, levels of accuracy, quality standards, and customer satisfaction levels
- treat the workforce with dignity and respect, maintaining high levels of confidentiality, trust, and integrity in the handling of sensitive and confidential issues
- adheres to established standards and guidelines
*qualifications* requirements*:
- bachelor's degree or equivalent is required
- a minimum of 5 years of human resources experience with a concentration in employee relations, labor relations, and/or hr generalist
- researching, investigating, and addressing employee misconduct and poor performance; providing guidance to management
- knowledge of the country's employment relations laws and practices, with the ability to handle er issues with autonomy, or under the supervision of a manager for more complex issues
- knowledge of labor relations laws and practices, with the ability to prepare all regular lr meetings with autonomy, and the ability to independently lead simple lr meetings
- experience in diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues, while recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems
- provide specific expertise on at least one given topic belonging to the er/lr domain
- detail-oriented, especially as it pertains to effectively managing employee relations issues and investigations
- the ability to influence without authority
- customer oriented and excellent customer service skills
