in this position, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining an exceptional supply base for assigned commodities.
key responsibilities include developing commodity strategies, achieving year-over-year savings, and sourcing materials for new projects.
*primary responsibilities*:
- source qualified suppliers to meet program needs, staying within budget and timelines.
- monitor key market indexes and economic conditions to ensure competitive pricing, conduct cost breakdowns and modeling, and communicate cost drivers.
- develop and implement commodity strategies that support current and future needs; secure cross-functional alignment.
- create and execute an annual budget/savings plan; follow up and drive organizational support for resourcing projects.
- continuously develop product and commodity knowledge; understand supplier operations and their impact on the company.
- exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all management levels, both internally and externally.
- prepare sourcing board documents as required.
- provide support to plant personnel in material outage situations.
- flexibility to adjust working hours to support jac europe and jac north america.
*requirements and qualifications*:
- bachelor's degree in supply chain management, or the equivalent relevant experience preferred
- previous experience in a tier i automotive environment preferred
- commodity experience required, 7+ years of previous experience preferred
- ability to work productively, prioritize action items, and produce results while also being flexible to environmental changes.
- high degree of analytical skills - ability to structure and process qualitative or quantitative data and draw insightful conclusions.
- excellent negotiation skills.
- superior written and verbal communication skills.
- strong computer skills, including pc knowledge, microsoft office suite, and ability to learn new software
- strives to be a team player throughout the department and all areas of the company.
- travel will be required (approximately 20 percent) to various supplier locations.
- fluency in both spanish and english
