job duties and responsibilities:
customs analysts jr. is responsible for analyzing assigned workload of us imports and related payments within a specific timeframe. They provide support for value compliance review and ensure compliance with customs regulations and laws.
responsibilities of the position:
1. intermediate knowledge in customs regulations and trade compliance laws, to provide insightful analysis and strategic planning.
2. the primary role is to manage and monitor all activities relating to customs and trade within the organization.
3. prepare, review, and submit customs declarations and other necessary documentation.
4. collaborate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to optimize customs procedures.
5. assist in the development and implementation of compliance strategies.
6. address and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to customs clearance processes.
7. manage record keeping systems to ensure all required import and export documentation is maintained.
8. to check the correct application of customs procedures, tariff classifications, duty rates, and trade agreements.
9. stay updated on changes in customs regulations and translate them into operational practices.
10. work closely with customs brokers and agencies to ensure seamless import and export activities.
11. oversee tariff classification and valuation procedures.
12. develop and implement customs compliance strategies.
experience and skills:
* bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field.
* proven experience as a customs analyst or similar role at least 2-3 years in similar position.
* ms office (excel).
* bilingual.
* ability to work in a team environment, collaborating with various stakeholders such as supply chain, logistics, and legal teams.
* basic knowledge of customs laws, regulations, and procedures.
* analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* strong negotiation skills.
