*job summary*:as an inventory specialist, your primary focus is to ensure we are always in stock on all our products!
to accomplish this, you will need to know inventory levels, inside and out, for all channels of distribution (d2c, b2b, amazon, and international).
you will be responsible for ensuring accurate reorder points and quantities are set by sku, orders for more inventory are placed according to manufacturing lead times, and that inventory orders deliver on time and in full.
you will collaborate closely with the director of operations and interact with various team members across departments.
*tasks and responsibilities*:- based on historical demand and projected future demand, set reorder points and quantities by sku- forecast inventory, on at least a quarterly basis, to ensure proper inventory levels are maintained by consistently reviewing weeks of supply, sell thru and trends, and production schedules- create and maintain inventory purchase orders- set up and maintain skus in our systems- develop and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams, spanning operations, sales, finance, marketing, customer service, and product development- monitor production and shipping schedules to ensure timely shipment and delivery- ongoing cost-cutting initiatives including negotiating with current contract manufacturers- prepare data for monthly planning/buying meetings and s&op meetings.
reports include: inventory on hand, customer demand, in-transit goods and seasonal trends- pro-actively communicate with the director of operations regarding any quality or production issues with our vendors- alert the organization to any current or potential future out of stocks*qualifications*:- minimum of 5 years experience in inventory control required.- experience in the natural products industry preferred.- excellent written and verbal communication skills.- exceptional attention to detail- strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.- ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.- knowledge of manufacturing processes and raw material systems is a plus
